We are proud to receive “Create with AI” recognition from YouTube and the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT), presented to our founder and filmmaker Gijo Uthuppu by Dr. L. Murugan, Hon’ble Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, at the YouTube Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.
This moment celebrates a journey that brought Avium Studios and Garuda X Media together to create Chekavar—a film shaped by imagination, collaboration and the willingness to explore a new way of making cinema.
One of four selected studios.
Avium Studios was one of four studios selected for the “Create with AI” programme. We were joined by:

- Kalpanik Films LLP
Each studio brought its own story and creative approach, exploring how AI could support filmmaking, animation, visual effects and digital storytelling. Explore IICT’s updates on the four participating studios.
Our journey with Chekavar.
For us, that opportunity became Chekavar. Written and directed by Gijo Uthuppu, the film brings a fictional story to life against the historical backdrop of the Battle of Colachel in 1741. Together with Garuda X Media, we explored how live action, visual effects and AI-assisted production could serve the world and emotion of the film.
Behind this recognition is a team. It belongs to the people who believed in the story, worked through difficult creative decisions, tested new approaches and kept refining the work.
